The Foods class is an elective you can take in eighth or ninth grade.  In this class, you learn about nutrition, proper ways to cook, and measurements.  Everybody who has taken it, has loved it!  Doing the cooking labs are a lot of fun!

When asked what is learned in Foods, Elizabeth Bird, an eighth grader at Springville Junior High School, answered, “During foods, we learn how to make food, along with safety tips to keep you safe while cooking.”  It is very important to stay safe while cooking.  They usually have a cooking lab every Tuesday.  
Some of Ashlee Eve’s favorite things they’ve cooked so far are scones, muffins, and fruit smoothies.  The things they cook taste very good.  Ashlee is an eighth grader at Springville Junior High School who has foods class third period.  They normally do their food labs once or twice a week.  When asked what their favorite part of the class was, both Elizabeth Bird and Maggie Miller, eighth graders at SJHS, answered, “My favorite part about the class is learning to cook.  It’s a good life skill to have and to learn.”

In conclusion, The class is very fun.  If you want to take it, you have to be in eighth or ninth grade.  In the class you learn about very valuable life skills that are helpful to know for when you get older.
