There aren’t that many drinking fountains at our school. This causes issues with our student body. Many students have to walk to a different hall to get one miserable drink of water.  Getting a tardy just for getting a drink is kinda ridiculous. A student shouldn’t have to worry about being late to a class just because they wanted to quench their thirst.

“I think it would be a great idea, it could probably help students be less tardy to classes since it’s closer,” says Jesus Hernandez. “...could probably save a couple tardies at least and less amount of tardies is always a good thing.”  Jesus’s statements sum up perfectly the benefits of having more drinking fountains. Students would be less tardy to their classes that aren’t near drinking fountains and less tardies would benefit both students and teachers.

“That would be nice...wouldn’t have to walk to certain locations to get a drink,” states Landon Archer. Both he and Jesus seem to think that more drinking fountains would help SJHS’s students. Water is very important and students should have the chance to get a drink during the breaks. Landon adds to his statement by saying more drinking fountains would mean that students would not have to wait as long for others to finish up. They could easily just walk to another one. The lines for drinking fountains would go down. Which means less people in one single hallway.

Though the drinking fountains wish may not come true very soon. “It would probably be around the middle of all the things we need,” says Lilliana Killpack.  It’s definitely something we want, but it’s not the most important right now. We have a lot of other things that need attention right now, drinking fountains isn’t one of them right now sadly. We hope see this come a reality, but until then we’ll make due with what we can.
