At Springville Junior High, we have a great cross country team. With great coaches Mr. Hammon and Mr. McKell, as well as many awesome athletes. Here is a little info about the team. “Cross Country makes me feel like I can accomplish something,” said Mason Palmer, who is in ninth grade. Meets are on Fridays, and the athletes compete in mile and a half races. Athletes who are on the High School team got invited to compete in Idaho in an event sponsored by Nike. The boys placed 3rd overall, and the girls took home the gold at 1st. Colton Bologna had the opportunity to compete in this event and loved it. “It was awesome to see kids from all over, like Utah, California, and Idaho competing in one place, and it was sponsored by Nike, so that is very cool too.” Some of the runners on the high school team are Malil Boyer, Kaylanna Price, and Spencer Neel. Kudos to them for doing an awesome job! Cross Country is a great way for students to compete, and also have fun while doing it. Colton said “I’m happy that my hard work has paid off.” Overall, this year’s Cross Country has been great, and all the athletes hard work has paid off.
