Submitted by jennifer.dunn on

We see them all of the time. They serve our lunch every day. But do we really know who they are? Lisa Faber and Cory Ostler are two of the lunch ladies at SJHS who work hard to provide us with our food each day.

Lisa Faber has been working at SJHS for two and a half years. She said that she really likes working here because she gets to come hang out with her friends.

Aside from work, she has other hobbies she likes to do. “I am a book blogger. I read new books for publishers and authors,” she says.

She has been married for 21 years and has four children. One you may know, Jacob Faber, is an eighth grade student here at SJHS. She also has a kid in elementary school and one in high school. The other is currently living in Chile.

Some fun facts about Lisa Faber are that her favorite color is teal and she likes to read.

A student lunch worker here, Catie Brunson, said that she enjoys working with Lisa every day. “I already know her and I’ve known her for a while, so I’m more comfortable talking to her than most of the lunch ladies,” she said.

Her son, Jacob, who is also a lunch worker, said, “She’s a nice lunch lady.”

Cory Ostler has been working here for just six months. She says that she likes her job because,“it’s a lot of fun. I like the girls I work with, and I like the hours because I get to be home with my children when they get home from school.”

When she is not here at work, she owns and operates her own baking business! “I get to make money doing what I like,” she said. She has been married for 15 years. Her husband is a musician, and her seven-year old daughter loves art. “My family is very artistic,” she said. She also has a five-year-old son who loves Star Wars.

Her favorite color is red and she loves baking and decorating cakes.

The student lunch workers like her, too! Catie Brunson said about Cory Ostler, “She’s a good worker and she’s friendly.”

Jacob Faber commented, “She’s awesome.”Now you have been introduced to a few of the lunch ladies.

Next time you see them in the lunch line, why not say hello?
