Humans of SJHS: Korbin Steele

Submitted by tara.pina on

Korbin Steele is a 9th grader here at our school. He’s a swell guy to be around, he’s really nice and friendly. An interesting thing about Korbin is that he’s had type 1 diabetes for 13 years. He wouldn’t consider himself well known, and it depends on the day with whether or not he’s friendly.

He estimated that there’s 500,000 windows in New York City, but there’s 27 million. He would describe yellow as a bright, vibrant, and at times annoying color to a blind person. He’d be purple, if he were a color in the crayon box, “because it means royalty, and I’m royalty,” he said sarcastically. Who do you think would win: Batman or Spider-man? Korbin said that Batman would win because Spider-man’s weak.

Now imagine a penguin walked into the room you’re in wearing a sombrero. What does he say, and why is he here? Korbin said that the penguin would say “hola, peeps” and is here for the “dank spicy enchilada memes.” He’s got 5 pets, 1 dog, 3 cats and a lizard. His dog’s name is Rambo, and his cats’ names are Casper, Jinx, and Oscar. He’s in photography, because he really likes taking pictures and the class is cool.

Are you a hunter, or a gatherer? Korbin would be a gatherer because he thinks that killing animals is sad. And that’s Korbin. If you’re not already friends with him, I highly recommend it. He’s a great guy to be around, and is funny, and nice.
