This year students of all ages are participating in the statewide Reflections contest at SJHS. You might remember Reflections from elementary school. It is an art contest that the PTA puts on every year to celebrate the artistic talents of all ages. Erika Crystal, a student at S.J.H.S said “You can pretty much enter anything, photos, visual arts, or 3-D.” The possibilities never end, with all the options some of the categories include, visual art, theatre, literature, 3-D arts, photography, film, dance and musical composition.
Students all around Utah enjoy all the endless possibilities in the Reflections contest. Abby Mangum, a former junior high student student, said, “I have entered reflections every year since first grade and so far, my favorite category is visual arts.” Erika Crystal said, “My favorite category is the photography.” There are so many choices but before you enter, make sure you stick to the topic. This year’s theme is “The Magic of the Moment.”
If you are interested you can sign up in the front office. I am sorry to say it but it is too late to sign up this year. But you will have plenty of opportunities next year and for years to come. Next years theme is: Believe, dream, inspire. You’d better get started!
