Have you ever met anyone who has worn a certain color every day for a long time? Probably not, unless you’ve met Alex Yoder. Alex is a ninth grade boy who goes to Springville Junior High and he has worn the color yellow every single day since he was seven. It doesn’t matter if it’s a yellow shirt, wristband, or shoes, there’s always something. In this article, we’re going to meet him and find out why yellow is so significant in his life.
Like I said, he’s been wearing yellow ever since was seven years old, which was the first day of school in second grade. He’s 14 years old now. “It was a sequence of events,” he says. “When I was seven or eight I saw this YouTube video of a person dancing in a banana costume and from then on I started to like the flavor of bananas, Laffy Taffy’s, and banana popsicles so I chose to wear yellow every day.”
Yellow is obviously his favorite color, and he says that he plans to wear yellow for a long time. “It’s already cool that I’ve been wearing yellow for seven years, but it would just get cooler and cooler if I keep doing it for a long time,” Alex says. Lots of people ask him why he wears yellow, and eventually they just pick up on it and figure it out.
Alex really likes doing what he does. “Wearing yellow has influenced my personality. I like helping people so yellow helps them to be happy and it makes me happier as well,” he says. Yellow is a bright color, like the sun, so it could definitely help other be more cheerful.
