Mrs.Taylor used to work at the Springville High school. She still works there but comes here for half a day I asked Mrs.Taylor how she likes being at the new school.(SJHS). She replied by saying, “I absolutely LOVE this school! I already knew the teachers and administration were excellent since I have a son Owen who has been at the school for the last 2 years. I am lucky to be a part of a wonderful math team, and I have grown to love so many students and teachers here.” I asked Mrs.Taylor how is it different from being at the high school? She said “There are a few obvious differences. There are 7 class periods each day here at the junior high, which makes classes much shorter than at the high school where we have 4 classes each A and B day. I prefer the A/B day schedule only because I get to spend more time with my students in one sitting, which permits more time with individual students. My students at the high school know they can't miss class because we cover a lot of material each day, and missing 1 A or B day class is the equivalent of missing 2 regular classes here. Attendance is so important! It doesn't matter if you are the best math student or the worst; if you miss a class you will be behind! At the high school, I find students are on their phones more and I remind my students: "Don't let your phone make you a bad math student." Students that come to class and pay attention will do well. It's a pretty easy formula.’’
Overall Mrs.Taylor enjoys being at the junior high, though there are many differences the junior high will always put a smile on your face.
