Review Game to the Rescue!

At Springville Junior High Mr. Shields, a history teacher, helped his eighth grade students prepare for a test. In class Mr. Shields took his students out in the hallway to play a review game, where they had to match explorers with what they did that made them famous. Mr. Shields got this review game from Mr. Hansen, another history teacher. This review game helped the students memorize things better. Mr. Shields has been doing this game for six years and thinks this game is a good learning opportunity for students.

Brayden Zubia, an eighth grader, is in Mr. Shields’ class and played this review game. He said, “It was really fun. You had a bag full of explorers’ names and what they did. You had to match them together then you would see how fast you matched them. The goal was to get the least amount of seconds in a round.” According to Natalee Moore, an eighth grader, they were learning about European travelers.

Nathan Conrad, another eighth grader, said, “It helped me remember the explorers.”

Brayden said, “The game helped me memorize faster.” According to Natalee the game was intense and put pressure on you so you would have to memorize it. Jade Poulson, another eighth grader, said, “It helped me remember names.”

Natalee said, “I like this game because it helps you in the future when someone asks a question.” Nathan said, “I like this game because it’s unique and not like the other review games.” Brayden said he liked it because it was very competitive.
