SJHS Sculpture Class

Wood, paper, clay, metal these are only a few of the unusual materials being used in the sculpture class at SJHS!  Mr. Cudney, the sculpture teacher at SJHS, said that sculpture “is a class for beginning and intermediate artists.  We explore sculpting and many different  types of media.” Megan Gashler, an eighth-grade sculpture student at SJHS, said, “I love working with my hands and making things I’ve never made before, and the sculpture class gives me a chance to do both of them!”

In sculpture class, aside from all the usual materials, they also make a wide variety of unusual projects such as animals, monsters and abstract forms. Megan Gashler said, “So far in Sculpture Class my favorite project has probably been the masks, although it was kind of gross to touch the wet plaster! Eww!” Mr. Cudney said, “I like making monsters, cool looking people sculptures, and masks.”

All in all, students think that the sculpture class is really fun and interesting. So if this class sounds fun, it is the class for you! You can sign up at the end of the year to participate in some of the fun activities in Mr. Cudney’s sculpture class.
