SJHS Talks Chapstick

"You remind me of my chapstick because you da balm!" Here are some opinions on chapstick from SJHS students and faculty.

“I panic when I don’t have it,” Mr. Hammon said.

Mint or Peppermint is by far the favorite flavor. But some other favorites are: Pineapple, Strawberry, Sweet Apple, or no flavor at all.

Megan Dickinson’s worst memory of not having her chapstick was last Friday. “Drove me nuts cause I didn’t have it.” she said.

Bryce Chambers forgot his chapstick at Lake Powell and that was the worst time he had when he didn’t have his chapstick. “ ‘Guys!’ I called out. ‘This sucks without chapstick.’ ”

Conner Kelly got a cut lip when he didn’t have his chapstick and DylanMiles was seven years old and his skin on his lips were all torn up. Will Daybell said that his worst memory of not having his chapstick was when he was “sitting in spanish class. Lips felt extra chappy.”

Mr. Hammon said that he started using chapstick because his doctor said that he would sew Mr. Hammon’s tongue to the top of his mouth if he didn't stop licking his lips. But thankfully he got chapstick from his doctor and has been using it nonstop ever since.

4 out of 5 people who were asked agreed that chapstick should be in the school vending machines. It would be a great idea because sometimes your lips just hurt and you forget your lip balm. “Yeah! That’s a good idea.” said Mr. Hammon. “Heck yeah. What if you forget it at home? Then you have a new one you can buy.” Ariana said. Dylan said “Yeah. Sometimes your lips really hurt.”

Would you share chapstick even though it has pathogens? “Yeah, I don’t care about germs!” Will Daybell says.

Chapstick seems to be an important part of life here at SJHS.
