SJHS Talks Disneyland

Disneyland. It’s a subject that is known to everyone, whether they’ve gone or not. Usually, you hear people say that they love it. But, there are some people that don’t love it. Let’s find out what some students at SJHS think about it.

First is Ms. Pina, an English teacher at Springville Junior High. She has been to Disneyland twice, and she had a really bad experience the first time she went. However, she says that the second time was better and made up for the bad experience she had. On a scale from 1-10 with 10 being good and 1 being bad, she rates it at a 9 if it’s not busy, and if it is busy, a 3. Her favorite rides in Disneyland are Alice in Wonderland, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, Finding Nemo, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Her all time favorite ride in California Adventure is Tower of Terror, of course. “I love the food there, and the magic part. There’s just so much detail in every place there to make you really feel like you’re there,” she says. Her favorite part about it is how you get to feel like a kid when you’re there.

Next is Sakari Duvall, an 8th grader. She’s been to Disneyland once and says she doesn’t really like it because she doesn’t really like roller coasters or spinny things. On a scale from 1 to 10 she rates it at a 5. Her favorite ride in Disneyland is Matterhorn and in California Adventure her favorite is Soarin’ Over California (which is now Soarin’ Over the World.) “My favorite part about it though is being with my family, and the warm weather,” Sakari says. No fast rides, but that’s okay.

Another 8th grader, Lindsay Gardner, has been to Disneyland three times. She loves it, and would rate it at a 10. She likes California Adventure better than Disneyland, because she think that it has better rides that are faster and more exciting. Her favorite ride in California Adventure is California Screamin’ and in Disneyland her favorite ride is Space Mountain. “It’s just a good environment, you have to be happy when you’re there,” she says. Her favorite part about Disneyland are all the rides.

Angela Lopez is an 8th grade girl who has only been to Disneyland once. Just like Lindsay, she loves and rates it at an 11 out of 10. “I like California Adventure better than Disneyland because they have more rides for teenagers, not little kid rides,” Angela says. However, her favorite ride in Disneyland is Splash Mountain which is an all time favorite for teens. In California Adventure, her favorite is California Screamin’. She mainly likes it because you get to enjoy it with family, and there’s lots of good food.

Last but not least is Adeline (Adi) Walker, a 9th grade girl who has been to Disneyland about 30-40 times. She absolutely loves it, and would rate it at a 10. She likes Disneyland better than California Adventure because it’s the original, but she still likes California Adventure. Her favorite ride from California Adventure is The Little Mermaid ride, and from Disneyland her favorite is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. “I grew up with Disney, and I go all the time,” she says. “I just love being there, and just the feeling that you have when you’re there.”
