SJHS Track Breaks Records!

Submitted by tiffanie.miley on

Who has the best track team? Springville Junior High does!  This season was an overall success for the track team here at SJHS.  Many great student athletes broke quite a few records this year from past years.  Keli Brotherson, a seventh-grade track member, broke the past school record in the 800 meter.  Eighth graders Sena Warren, Julie Sumsion, Kennedy Clement, Brennen Rymer, Harrison Holley, and Kaylee Wittaker all broke records in the distance races, hurdles, and discus.  Ninth graders Angela Cardon and Devyn Tate broke records in sprinting races, long jump, and hurdles.

“All of our student-athletes worked very hard and had a competitive and successful season,” said Ms. Gardner, the distance coach in track at SJHS.  Also a lot of students on track made it to  the district finals on May 9!  According to Harrison Holley and Julie Sumsion they had to practice and work really hard during the spring and summer, and also track practices to break the records.  Congrats to all the track members who broke school records!
