Trapped in a Movie

Have you ever thought about what you would do if you were stuck in a movie? Would you run and hide from all of the action? Would you meet up with all of the main characters and join them on their journeys? Maybe you would even try to become the hero of movie. We asked some students here at SJHS and this is what they had to say.

First we asked them what movie they would want to be trapped in. Tommy Williams, a 9th grade student here, said that he would want to be trapped in Star Wars: episode 5 The Empire Strikes back. Ella Kurban, a 7th grader said “I think it would be exciting to be in Jurassic world.” Bridget Hickman, a 7th grader said she would would like to be in Guardians of The Galaxy.

When asked what they would like to do there they gave some interesting answers. Tommy said that he would join the Galactic Empire, which is the government that the main characters are fighting against. Although empire is portrayed as the bad guys he thought that joining the empire would be a cool and interesting experience. Ella, being trapped on an island full of prehistoric predators said that she would simply try to stay alive. Bridget said, “I would join Star-Lord (Peter Quill, the protagonist) and gang to help them stop Ronan (the antagonist) from using the infinity stone (the powerful destructive weapon that he would use to destroy the galaxy).” These students are all very bold in their decisions of movie and events to take place in.

We then asked them if there was anything that they would try to change in the movie. Tommy was very adamant about his answer, “Absolutely not, Empire strikes back is a perfect movie.” Ella said that she would definitely try to keep it the same but she’s not confident in the fact that she would mess up the story in some way. Bridget said that she would try to save Groot, the big tree character who (spoiler alert) dies at the end. He begins to regenerate as a tiny little version of himself but Bridget would do anything in her power to save him.

Finally we asked them if they would like to say in their movies for the rest of their lives. Tommy, who has a very strong love for Empire strikes back would said that he would would definitely stay there. Ella, being in such a dangerous situation said that she would go home after the plot plays out, provided she survived the ordeal. Bridget said, “I would probably stay there, I don’t know though.” which is understandable because you would probably miss your real life after a while.
