Here at Springville Junior High (SJHS) football season has started! 2015 is a brand new year for Reams, one of the 8th grade football teams, to win! SJHS wants to spread their love for football!
Mike Giles, an eighth grader at SJHS, said that he has been playing football for as long as he can remember; he said maybe around five or six years! Tyler Kelly, another eighth grader known as TK, said he has been playing, “around 3 years or longer.” They both love football and are on Reams team. Karson Benson, another eighth grader, said that their team has been undefeated.
Karson Benson said, “I like to play football because it’s fun, and I like to run into people and hit them.” According to Mike Giles he likes football but also enjoys baseball, basketball, volleyball, and if fishing and hunting count then he enjoys them too. Tyler Kelly said that he may play football next year because he enjoys it, but he isn’t sure yet. Karson, Mike, and Tyler all agreed and said that they love football and appreciate the thrill of it.
In Tyler’s family he is not the only one that plays. His little brother is playing football for the first time this year, and Tyler’s dad used to play it and really inspired Tyler to play it too, and following in Tyler’s footsteps was his little brother.
Karson said, “Walter Payton, a NFL football player for the Chicago Bears, is the one who inspired me to play and I want to be as good as him one day.”
