Windows Into the Workplace: Looking Through the Window of Your Future

Submitted by tara.pina on

In this day and age, it is getting more and more important to know what one of many career pathways you are going to take. This is the exact reason Mrs. Distefano, 7th grader counselor, decided to set up a Quest Time opportunity in room 404 for students to watch a presentation about a certain career. The presenter is someone who knows lots about the profession, usually being someone who has gone down that certain career pathway. Mrs. Distefeno told us the biggest problem she had was not enough people knowing about it, so hopefully by the end of the article, you’ll consider attending one of the presentations. There’s an infinite number of careers; so there has to be one for you!

As stated above, it is imperative that students can find a career pathway for them. Mrs. Distefano told us the purpose of the presentations. She said, “Windows into the Workplace is to help students be able to explore careers, and get familiar with the many jobs out there.”

The purpose of the presentation is completely countered out however, if the students are interested and involved. Mrs. Distefano told us what makes a presentation a good one. she said, “It's good when the presenter brings something to engage the students with.” Some of the most popular presentations from the past have been a firefighter, and an author.

Next time you are looking for something different to do for Quest Time head to room 404 for Windows Into the Workplace. You might just discover your dream career.
