Yearbook: Capturing memories that last a lifetime

Submitted by tiffanie.miley on

You may think that you won’t forget the memories that you have made with your best friends during school, but you can never be sure. Don’t you want to have a book that captures the memories of your school years? That you can show a future family or friends? Most school yearbooks have similar formats; they include photographs of students, information on activities, sports, and other activities.

At SJHS we have a yearbook class where students create the entire yearbook. It is a great class for students who are interested in taking pictures, designing and being creative. This class takes place during seventh period. Each student gets to design up to 6-10 pages for the yearbook and gets to put their skills to the test. To apply for yearbook students would have filled out an application and turned it into Ms. Neeley or the office. Ms. Neeley, the yearbook advisor at SJHS, said, “Students should take yearbook because it is a fun class and you learn a lot about taking pictures and design.”

This year’s applications for yearbook are over, but there is always next year. Yearbook applicants were interviewed by the yearbook staff to discover why they want to be in yearbook. Jen Bate, a ninth grade yearbook staff member, said, “I love yearbook; I did it last year, and I wanted to finish my last year, at the junior high out with yearbook.” If you are a student and are interested in any of these things, then consider yearbook for a class next time the opportunity comes up.
