Zoomania Brings Animals for a CTE Assembly

It isn’t too often that students get to see animals inside of a junior high school.  But all seventh graders at Springville Junior High School had the opportunity to not only see a few animals, but learn a little bit about them.  On Monday, October 22nd, Zoomania came to SJHS to put on an assembly for seventh graders during their CTE class.  According to Mr. Taylor, one of three CTE teachers at SJHS, the reason for the assembly was to show students a few career paths involving animals.

Zoomania brought a great variety of animals to the assembly.  According to Mr. Taylor, there were two snakes, a couple of lizards, a macaw, a flying squirrel, a Great Dane, a tortoise, and even a chinchilla.  “It was really cool to see all of those animals at the same assembly,” said Brett Moon, a seventh grader at SJHS.  Not only was the assembly fun and entertaining, it also helped give students a better understanding about jobs with animals.  “It’s a positive way to expose students to different career paths without giving them a big, long lecture,” said Mr. Taylor. “I think [the students] enjoyed it.”
