The Lunch Ladies at SJHS 336.21 KB

What is your favorite place in the school? For many students it is the cafeteria, and our hard working lunch ladies make it even more awesome.

Rachell Chapple, the lunchroom manager, said, “Being part of the cafeteria staff is like having nine sisters. We work hard and we have to work rather quick, but in and among all of the craziness we have a lot of fun.” According to Debbie Messick, the lunch clerk, the best thing about it is that it is fun and enjoyable, and they like to prepare the food and see the smiling faces of the students.

According to Rachell Chapple, the SJHS kitchen is busy and big, but very fun to be in. Debbie Messick said, “It’s big and new, and we have lots of room to store food and lots of ovens and other equipment to get the food cooked.”

According to Grace Brand, an eighth grade student who eats school lunch, the SJHS cafeteria staff are awesome, kind, happy, and helpful. She said, “The food is better than elementary school.”

According to Rachell Chapple, she became a lunch lady because she likes working in the kitchen and making food taste good. She also likes that she has holidays off so she can spend time with her kids and family. According to Debbie Messick, she became a lunch lady because she needed a job, and she gets to associate with people in the mornings and then babysit her grandkids in the afternoon.
