Utah Fine Art Museum

Last week our Spanish students took a field trip to the University of Utah's Fine Art Museum! Students explored different exhibits showcasing Mayan art, Chicano art, and even some Asian art. They loved their experience there!

Our winners for the week! 

Teagan Farr - Teagan is a fun kid to have in class. He brings great energy to our class each day and always has a positive attitude.

Taitlyn Verwer - Taitlyn helped two students with homework that they didn't understand. She is kind, responsible, and concerned about others. 

Henry Holmes - Henry helped a fellow student in the hall when he saw he needed help.

Tage Larsen -  Tage is kind to everyone and works hard to improve his grades. Tage is respectful and emulates being a true ally in helping others.

Mackya Pace - Mackya volunteered to walk a peer in the hallway as support when they needed a friend.

Here are the winners for March 11th. Thank you for being an Ally! 

Blake Elzinga is always willing to go the extra mile in class!

Adriana Chavez is always kind to her classmates, gives them compliments, and makes them feel welcome.

Oscar Ortiz-Martinez is always on task and an example to others.

Dallin Nunn has been a good friend to his classmates and has had many positive interactions with others.

Talin Gosman is such a kind and considerate friend. He builds up others’ self-esteem by paying them a compliment or offering encouraging words. He is awesome!

Board Games in History!

All the 9th grade World History classes had an opportunity to play a board game in class meant to show circumstances European explorers faced while exploring around the world. A great addition to our Exploration Unit!

LIA & ESL!

I am so pleased that Mrs. Bishop approached me about having her Latinos in Action (LIA) class work with my ESL class. We are so happy to have the extra help with reading fluency and comprehension. Peer reading tutors can be so influential; I'm excited to see how this progresses through the rest of the school year.
