Message for 9th Grade Honors English Students

Submitted by tara.pina on Fri, 05/21/2021 - 16:35

Hello, honors scholars!

We hope you are having a fantastic summer. It’s crazy to believe we only have a little more than a month left until school starts, but we are looking forward to working with you this fall!

With that being said, you may have noticed that you never received an assignment for summer reading. That is because there is no required summer reading this year for 9th grade Honors English at Springville Junior.

Bye Mrs. Beckstrand!

You all may know Mrs. Beckstrand as just a math teacher. But do you really know her? I don’t mean do you know her name and favorite color but do you know who she is? Like, what did she wanted to be when she grew up? Or, what would she do if she had $1 million? Well, I can give you answers to those questions! When she was little she had ALWAYS wanted to be a teacher or veterinarian. And if she had $1 million she would travel the world! Here’s what she would do if she had 3 wishes

“1. I would wish to always have 1$ more than Bill Gates.

Mrs. Weight and her stay at Springville Junior High

Submitted by tara.pina on Fri, 05/21/2021 - 12:43

Mrs. Weight began her journey as a student teacher here at Springville Junior High.

I asked her to share her story and this is what she replied with, “ I have loved my time here at SJHS. I started as a student teacher, became a long-term sub when Mrs. Mower had her baby, then became a full-time teacher all at SJHS.  My whole career has been at SJHS. It's a little scary to be leaving but it's good to do things that scare you.”

Mr. Stuart

Submitted by tara.pina on Thu, 05/20/2021 - 12:58

With the end of the school year coming also bring changes. One of those changes is that Mr. Stuart will be leaving SJHS.

Before becoming a teacher, Mr.Stuart worked retail, with the forest service, he also worked in marketing, process improvement, and in printing for years. He is also a professional graphic designer. He loved doing those things, but when he went back to college he was asked to be a teaching assistant, and he learned that he LOVED teaching. So he became a teacher!
