Dear SJHS families:

We have had a great first week of school here at Springville Junior High! It has been wonderful having our students back in the building. We have enjoyed getting to know them this week. Our teachers participated in many professional development and collaboration activities throughout the summer to prepare for their students, and are looking forward to a fantastic year! 

There will be a GIRL'S TENNIS meeting this Friday, right after school in Mr. Dahl's room (S218).  Any girls who want to try out should attend this meeting.  If you can't make it, talk to Mr. Dahl individually.  See you Friday!

Heidi Whittaker is a Parent Consultant for the Utah Parent Center but is contracted to work specifically with Nebo School District to provide free assistance/resources to parents who have children with special needs in Nebo School District.  She helps parents who suspect their child may have a special need as well as help parents who already have children with IEPs/504s in Nebo. 

Her role is to help facilitate communication and assist parents in understanding the IEP Process. She also helps provide free monthly workshops with Nebo School District for parents.  

Nebo School District is looking forward to another opportunity to begin the Fall Community School Program. This is an amazing opportunity to expand your horizons and improve your abilities. The goal of the Community School Program is to meet the needs and interests of the people in the community. There are many course options to choose from. We would love to see you there!

Join the SJHS cross country team!

Students that are interested will need a physical with paperwork submitted on registermyathlete.com by August 26th.

Tabitha's Way will be hosting the Gear Up for School event this year! Here are the details:

- July 30th, 2022. 

- 9 am - 11 am.

- Each school-aged child will receive a backpack filled with school supplies.

- Other free resources will also be available at this event.

- The event will be held at the Indoor Tennis Courts at the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds, 475 S Main St. 

*Backpacks are first come, first serve. There is no guarantee. The child must be present to receive a backpack.

Nebo is partnering with the Utah Food Bank again this year to provide free summer meals in four of Nebo School District communities. Fresh and free summer meals will be offered every Monday through Friday.

Who: Youth up to age 18
What: Fresh and Free Summer Meals
When: Monday through Friday, from May 31 - August 12, 2022

Springville Area: 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Springville Splash Pad/Library, 45 South Main Street, Springville.

Brayden Bascom - Brayden was found helping another student get to the office and get the assistance they needed.

Mac Bigler - Mac is a polite student and always uses polite language when talking to adults.

Alex Steele - Alex is an awesome and insightful student. Alex works hard and always wants to learn.

Nazareth Sandoval - Nazareth is always kind to others. He always says "thank you". He works hard and is very responsible.
