Board Games in History!
All the 9th grade World History classes had an opportunity to play a board game in class meant to show circumstances European explorers faced while exploring around the world. A great addition to our Exploration Unit!

I am so pleased that Mrs. Bishop approached me about having her Latinos in Action (LIA) class work with my ESL class. We are so happy to have the extra help with reading fluency and comprehension. Peer reading tutors can be so influential; I'm excited to see how this progresses through the rest of the school year.

Have a great 3 day weekend!
Our class was experimenting with traditional Chinese art forms, such as calligraphy, embroidery, paper folding, and Chinese knot tying, right before Christmas. It was a fun way to learn more about Chinese culture and make gifts to take home for Christmas!

We are finishing up another great week at Springville Junior High. This week we had six teams of eighth graders attend the state We the People competition at UVU. Our school team came third place overall, and the group that focused on the question “How was the Constitution used to establish our government?” came in first place for the entire state of Utah! We are so proud of their hard work! It has been impressive to see how much our eighth graders have learned about the Constitution and how they have been able to apply that learning to complicated questions. Here are our upcoming events:
Our students competed at the state We the People competition yesterday.
Our unit 4 team took 1st place and overall Springville JR took 3rd place.
We are beyond proud of our students!
