Dear SJHS parents and guardians:
I hope you and your families had a great spring break! It’s hard to believe there are only seven weeks left in the school year. Our spring athletics are in full swing with our first track meet this week and our first tennis match next week. We’re excited for our students to participate in these outdoor sports! I’m also including information about end-of-year assessments in this email. Our assessments will run from April 26 through May 14.

Dear SJHS parents and guardians:
Congratulations to the cast and crew of Seussical! They put on several amazing shows this weekend. We are so proud of their hard work and dedication! Thank you to Mrs. Gwilliam, Mrs. Bird, and all of the parents, SJHS faculty, and Springville community members who were involved in making the show a possibility for our students.
Each year 9th graders at SJHS have the opportunity to present a TED talk in their English Classes. In her talk, Julia Hill presented on how music affects our mental health. She explains “I thought about one of my favorite things to present about.” People are nervous before they present. Julia explains it as, “I got more and more nervous every step that I took towards the front of the class.” During Julia’s TED Talk everyone was engaged. Delia Thompson says that her favorite part of Julia’s TED Talk is, “When Julia used memes that were related to all of us.” Once Julia was done she was so proud that she did it.
Sadie Bussburg is one of the many great 9th graders here at Springville Junior high. Sadie Bussburg likes to dance and cheer. If Sadie could learn to do anything, she would learn how to do sign language. “I would learn sign language because my grandma signs and I think it would be cool to learn how to do.” Sadie’s favorite place she has been to is New York. “New York is my favorite because it was really fun and it was my first major trip.” Sadie’s favorite part of school is seeing her friends and all of the social aspects of school. Sadies favorite class is sewing.
One thing that Teagan would tell the future generation is “it’s not that hard.” Looking back on the past year of 2020, he is a very optimistic person.
Maddy Boston is one of the fantastic people here at SJHS, this is her 2nd year attending here and she is in 8th grade. She is really enjoying her year even though it's a different one. She enjoys all of the many classes that are offered and she especially enjoys drama and the wide variety of classes she can take with her friends. Outside of school, she participates in competitive cheer, she is involved in the school play, playing the “Sour Kangaroo.'' She is very excited and hopeful for her future and would really love to go into the military or maybe even become a cop. Maddy is a very loving and outgoing student and if you ever need a pick up I suggest going and talking to her!
