Jocee Blakey: Sewing, Running, Chatting!

Submitted by tara.pina on

Jocee is a 9th grader at SJHS who likes to be challenged in her classes. In fact, that's one of her favorite parts about 9th grade.
Jocee’s favorite class happens to be sewing. She likes sewing because she likes to make the projects. But her favorite thing about school is lunch. She likes to chat with her friends and be able to take a break from schoolwork. Jocee likes being in classes where she can be challenged but also have fun.
In her free time, Jocee likes to run, and when she's not doing that she likes to do homework and read.

DyBorrah Johnson: outstanding school citizen

Submitted by tara.pina on

Dyborrah Johnson is the “new girl” at SJHS but you would’ve thought that she’s been with us for years; she’s an all-around friend to everyone here at SJHS. Her favorite part of SJHS is getting to know a lot of people and doesn’t remotely dislike anything about our school because she feels that it’s a great school. Her favorite subjects are science and math because “sometimes it’s good to learn something new that can help you out in life.” She does Basketball, Softball, Tennis, Swim, Volleyball, and she Tutors sometimes. She is very sporty as you can tell; but that’s not all there is to her. She went to Westmore Elementary in Orem but she misses all of her old friends.

Getting to know Aaron Reynolds

Submitted by tara.pina on

Do you want to get to know a nice 8th-grade student? Make a new friend? Well, say hello to Aaron Reynolds!
Aaron Reynolds is an 8th grader here at SJHS and he loves math because he said “Math is like puzzles in the right mindset." His favorite part about this school year so far is still being able to come to school, and his least favorite part is the no Quest Time, and we have to wear masks. He isn’t a part of any clubs or sports but he would like to be! When asked if he could change anything about this school year he said he would take away all the masks because he would like to still see everyone's faces. Aaron Reynolds is just an all-around awesome person and you should really get to know him!

Dear SJHS parents and guardians:

Nebo District and the Utah County Board of Health are closely monitoring the confirmed daily COVID-19 case counts at each school in the District. Springville Junior High School has seen an increase in cases in recent days, as has our community. Therefore, we have been notified that implementing “Test to Stay” or “Alternating Day” schedule for Springville Junior High’s At-School Learners is possible in the next few days if the school case counts continue to rise.

The Weakley Twins: Best friends forever!

Submitted by tara.pina on

Hillary and Heather Weakley are identical twins. From what they wear to what they say to what they look like. Hillary says the best thing about being twins is, ¨You always have a permanent best friend.¨ Heather explains it as a ¨A built-in BFF wherever we go.¨ Hillary says that there are no bad things about being a twin. On the other hand, Heather says that ¨Like normal siblings we fight sometimes.¨ Heather likes to wrestle and Hillary likes to dance. They both like soccer and being with friends. As Heather puts it “We are both just happy people!” They love each other and are so glad to have each other!
