Happy Fall Break! Today is the end of first term, and students will be out of school until next Tuesday, October 18. Our PTA is hosting Red Ribbon Week the week after Fall Break. They have some fun activities planned for our students! Here is a schedule of the dress-up day themes for each day:
- Tuesday, 10/18/22: "I commit to be drug-free!" Students will be given wristbands.
- Wednesday, 10/19/22: "Team up against drugs!" Wear your favorite sports team gear
- Thursday, 10/20/22: "I'm too bright to do drugs!" Wear neon colors / sunglasses (Sunglasses will need to be removed when students are in class.)
- Friday, 10/21/22: "Hats off to being drug-free!" Wear a hat day

Utah Parent Center is hosting an October Parent Workshop next week. The workshop is intended to help parents of students with disabilities understand the IEP (Individual Education Plan) process, communicate more effectively with teachers, and be more prepared to be collaborators at IEP meetings. The workshop is on October 19 via zoom, so anyone can join, but you will need to RSVP as soon as possible. ¡Felices vacaciones de otoño! Hoy es el final del primer trimestre y los estudiantes estarán fuera de la escuela hasta el próximo martes 18 de octubre. Nuestro PTA está organizando la Semana del Listón Rojo la semana después de las vacaciones de otoño. ¡Tienen algunas actividades divertidas planeadas para nuestros estudiantes! Aquí hay un cronograma de los temas del día de disfraces para cada día:
- Martes, 18/10/22: "¡Me comprometo a estar libre de drogas!" Los estudiantes recibirán pulseras.
- Miércoles, 19/10/22: "¡Únete contra las drogas!" Usa tu equipo deportivo favorito
- Jueves, 20/10/22: "¡Soy demasiado brillante para consumir drogas!" Use colores de neón / gafas de sol (las gafas de sol deberán quitarse cuando los estudiantes estén en clase).
- Viernes, 21/10/22: "¡Me quito el sombrero por estar libre de drogas!" Use un día de sombrero.

El Centro de Padres de Utah organizará un taller para padres en octubre la próxima semana. El taller tiene como objetivo ayudar a los padres de estudiantes con discapacidades a comprender el proceso del IEP (Plan de Educación Individual), comunicarse de manera más efectiva con los maestros y estar más preparados para ser colaboradores en las reuniones del IEP. El taller es el 19 de octubre a través de zoom, por lo que cualquiera puede unirse, pero deberá confirmarlo antes posible.
