Dear SJHS students and families:
The end of the year is right around the corner, and we’ll have several school activities in the next few weeks. Bus tickets for Lagoon went on sale in the finance office this week—please click here for details about cost, how to purchase tickets, eligibility, etc. Events for next week:
Monday, 5/1/23:
- Our eighth graders will take the state science RISE test this week in their science classes.
- Dia de Los Niños / Los Libros (Children's Book Day): Come celebrate the joy of reading with activities, displays, and free resources, including: gallery walk, storytime, book bingo, book walk (Win a free book!), arts & crafts, learn about dual language immersion programs, games, photo booth, and Springville Library. Join us from 6:30-8:00pm in the Springville Junior High gym. (no charge to attend)
Tuesday, 5/2/23:
- AP Chinese test
- Boys tennis vs. Spanish Fork Junior at Springville Junior High School (no charge to attend)
Thursday, 5/4/23:
- Track meet at Spanish Fork High School at 2:00pm (no charge to attend)
- Eighth graders will take the state English and writing RISE tests between Thursday, May 4 and next Friday, May 12.
Starting Monday, May 1st through May 5th, our Latinos in Action students are presenting Multicultural Week, celebrating the diverse cultures in our school. During first and second lunch each day, we’ll be doing activities recognizing Hispanic, Polynesian, Asian, African American, and Native American ethnicities and cultures. Students can stop by the library to grab a passport and participate in the activities. Once students have a fully stamped passport, they’ll be entered to win a prize. Come celebrate with us!

El fin de año está a la vuelta de la esquina, y tendremos mucha escuelaa ctividades en las próximas semanas. Los boletos de autobús para Lagoon salieron a la venta en la oficina de finanzas esta semana; haga clic en aquí para obtener detalles sobre el costo, cómo a compra entradas, elegibilidad, etc.Eventos para la próxima semana:
Lunes, 5/1/23:
- Nuestros estudiantes de octavo grado tomarán el examen estatal de ciencias RISE esta semana en sus clases de ciencias.
- Dia de Los Niños / Los Libros: Venga a celebrar la alegría de leer con actividades, exhibiciones y recursos gratuitos, que incluyen: paseo por la galería, hora del cuento, bingo de libros, paseo del libro (¡gane un libro gratis!), artes y manualidades, aprenda sobre los programas de inmersión en dos idiomas, juegos, fotomatón y la biblioteca de Springville. Únase a nosotros de 6:30 a 8:00 p. m. en el gimnasio de Springville Junior High.

Jueves, 5/4/23:
- Reunión de atletismo en Spanish Fork High School a las 14:00(sin cargo para asistir)
- Los estudiantes de octavo grado tomarán las pruebas estatales de inglés y escritura RISE entre el jueves 5/4/23 y el próximo viernes 12 de mayo.
Desde el lunes 1 de mayo hasta el 5 de mayo, nuestros estudiantes de Latinos en Acción presentan la Semana Multicultural, celebrando las diversas culturas en nuestra escuela. Durante el primer y segundo almuerzo de cada día, realizaremos actividades que reconocen las etnias y culturas hispanas, polinesias, asiáticas, afroamericanas y nativas americanas. Los estudiantes pueden pasar por la biblioteca para obtener un pasaporte y participar en las actividades. Una vez que los estudiantes tengan un pasaporte completamente sellado, podrán participar para ganar un premio. ¡Ven a celebrar con nosotros!
