Springville Junior High School’s Student-Led Conferences will be held tonight from 3:30-8:30 pm. The purpose of the Student-Led Conference is two-fold. First, students will be actively involved in reflecting on their progress and accomplishments. Second, the Student-Led Conferences provide an opportunity for students to improve communication skills and discuss their understanding of their own learning process.
Students will have the opportunity to present their parents with a collection of work and progress reports gathered from all classes. Most importantly, the administration and teachers of SJHS hope students and parents will celebrate the completion of the portfolio and excellent work which has been done.
It is optional for parents to visit with any teachers, and since the students will be conducting their own conference with their parents, the teachers will be available to visit with parents if they have questions or concerns. It is hoped that parents will come away from this experience with more knowledge and understanding of their child’s experience and performance at SJHS.
