In recognition of Native American Heritage Month in November, students participated in an assembly to learn more about Native American Heritage. Fellow students taught about Native American culture and shared some of the Native American Pow Wow dances with the school.
The assembly started with Aiyana Stoker (SJHS 9th grader) singing the National Anthem in the Navajo language. Then we learned about and watched the grass dance, jingle dress dance, fancy shawl dance, and hoop dance.
A special thank you to Mrs. Allison, our 8th grade Health teacher, for organizing this opportunity for our students, and for the students who participated and shared their culture with us.
