Meet Malia Walker

Submitted by tara.pina on

Malia Walker is one of the many amazing seventh graders here at SJHS. She has been very much enjoying her time as a seventh-grader here at Springville. She really likes to come to school and have many different classes, with many different friends. She loves to have more freedom and she really enjoys her Chinese class and her drama class. She has high hopes for her future, and she hopes to study agriculture at Utah State. Malia is a very kind and loving person!

KYLIE ANDERSON: If you haven’t met her before, you are literally missing out!

Submitted by tara.pina on

First of all, Kylie is astronomically amazing. She absolutely loves our school and her friends and is a very positive person who will always support you and won’t judge you. Her vibe is immaculate. I actually asked her if she liked our school and she responded in her own iconic way: “Duh.. of course, I like my school! My friends are here!" Fun fact, Kylie’s favorite class is English because she loves the “chill vibe.” Something Kylie would like for people to know is that she is not mean, she might look intimidating, but really she’s the sweetest human being. So, therefore, Kylie is astronomically amazing and if you haven’t talked to or met her, I encourage you to do it!

Getting to know Braelyn Holbrook

Submitted by tara.pina on

Braelyn Holbrook is one of the many amazing ninth-graders here at Springville Junior. Braelyn Holbrook’s favorite things to do are playing sports and being outdoors. If she could learn to do anything she would want to learn how to play piano. “Oregon is my favorite place I have traveled to because lots of my closest cousins live there and it is so pretty. It’s got some cool beaches and there are lots of pretty trees.“ Braelyn’s favorite part of school is being with her friends. “My favorite class is choir because it is fun and I look forward to it each day. It also has a lot of good energy.” Braelyn’s advice for the seventh and eighth graders is to be friends with everyone and be including to everyone.

Dear SJHS parents and guardians:

We’d like to thank you for your support of our food drive! Within two days our students had filled the barrels provided by Utah Community Action. By the end of the week, the number of barrels had doubled and we still had boxes full of food that didn’t fit. Thank you for your generosity! Thank you to our Latinos in Action class, our student council, and our PTA for facilitating this week’s food drive! Here are the events for next week:

  • No school on Monday, February 15 -- Presidents’ Day
