Ninth graders at Springville Junior High took a visit to the Springville High School on February 25, 2013. The reason they went to the high school was to get to know the school, to get tenth-grade registration materials, and to get ready for next year. The ninth graders watched videos about some classes that they can take next year.  They also got to take a tour around the school so that they could get to know the school a lot better.

The high school counselors were there to open the students’ minds to what they should be expecting next year and to encourage them to take some fun elective classes. Not only that, but the high school counselors also helped the ninth graders understand the requirements it takes to graduate from high school. Mrs. Distefano, a ninth grade counselor at SJHS, said, “This was so that the students could have a little bit of orientation, also a little tour of the school to get to know the school a little better.”

Jocelyn Galindo, a ninth grade student at SJHS, said, “I enjoyed going to the high school. It was very good experience it really is helpful to go.” Cassandra Smith, another ninth grade student at SJHS, said, “I enjoyed this experience, it’s going to be a very good, and new learning experience.”

Gustavo Camcho, another ninth grader at SJHS, said, “I am excited, but yet not really.” He also said, “I learned you have four hour long classes a day.”  Overall, the students at SJHS seemed to have enjoyed this visit. They seemed to have had a great learning experience.
