Article: Basketball!!

The first basketball hoops were actually just peach baskets, a basket used to carry peaches, and the first backboards were made of wire.  Basketball is a game played between two teams of five in which goals are scored by throwing a ball through a netted hoop fixed at each end of the court.  Many people play Basketball.

Ella Peterson, an eighth grade student at Springville Junior High School, has been playing basketball for about nine years.  She plays Shooting guard and Point guard.  When asked why she likes playing basketball, she responds, “Lebron James is a big inspiration in my life and made me want to play basketball.”  Lebron James plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers.  When you are in ninth grade you have the opportunity to try out for the school basketball team.  Ella said that she is definitely trying out.

 Ashlee Edwards, an eighth grader at Springville Junior High School, responded to the question What is your favorite part about basketball? She answered, “I like basketball because you get to work together as a team and you have a lot of fun while doing so.”  Basketball is a team sport that requires everybody on the team to be playing and doing their best.  The main positions that Ashley plays are Forward or point guard.  

In conclusion, basketball is a very fun sport that a lot of people like to play.  Driggs Ellison, and eighth grader at Springville Junior High School, loves basketball.  He said that he is definitely going to try out for basketball next year.  In basketball there are two teams of eight playing each other.  Five from each team playing each other, and three on the bench from each team.  Are you going to try out for basketball?
