Ms. Dunn: New English Teacher at SJHS

Submitted by tiffanie.miley on

Ms. Jennifer Dunn, a new English teacher at Springville Junior High School, has always wanted to be a teacher. When she was really little, she would play school with her brothers and sisters and their stuffed animals, and she was always the teacher.  Three out of her four grandparents were teachers, and her dad is a professor at BYU. Ms. Dunn has always thought that education is very important. If she wasn’t an English teacher, then she would definitely want to teach history. She has always loved studying history; she is big into World War II.

She has taught English before at Mt. Nebo Junior High. Ms. Dunn says that her favorite part of her job is teaching her students. She said, “They always make me laugh, and I enjoy being able to spend time with them. It is so fun to see students learning and understanding new concepts.”

Ms. Dunn has had some good English teachers in the past, but when she was in school, the best teacher she had was Mrs. Taylor. Mrs. Taylor is Ms. Dunn’s hero. “She was such a great teacher, she pushed her students to be better and work harder,” said Ms. Dunn.

One of Ms. Dunn’s students, Jake Rowland, and eighth grader, really likes having Ms. Dunn as a teacher. He likes how she teaches them so that they understand. Jake said, “It is really fun when she teaches. She makes me want to learn.”
