The Mysterious Toilet Seat Hall Pass Revealed

Submitted by tiffanie.miley on

Everyone knows of Mr. Cudney’s toilet seat hall pass. But no one really knows where it came from or why he has it. Mr. Cudney, the art teacher here at SJHS, said, “I got the idea from an old gas station bathroom key holder. I thought it was kind of funny and that it was a good idea for a hall pass.”  Students say that it is very awkward and gross to carry it around; well that was the main point. Sarah Cheney, an eighth grader at SJHS, said, “I never used the hall pass, I thought it was awkward to carry around and extremely disgusting.”

According to Mr. Cudney, if you have a gross and big hall pass kids will be reluctant to leave the class room. Most students and teachers don’t know that it came from the school itself. It used to be in the old cafeteria’s bathroom. When Springville Junior High redid the bathrooms Mr. Cudney took it, then cleaned and sterilized it.

He has been wanting to have kids in his class paint the hall pass, but he hasn’t had a chance.  Instead, he is giving kids an opportunity during Quest Time to come and paint the toilet seat.
