Once upon a time we got a new principal. We also have a new Dean of Students. This new Dean of Students is Mrs. Shepherd. She was appointed when Ms. Miley went to the high school.
According to Mrs. Shepherd she interviewed and was asked by Mr. McGuire, the principal, to be the Dean of Students here at SJHS. Before she came here she taught history and German at Maple Mountain High School.
Mrs. Shepherd said, “The kids here look me in the eyes and say hello when I pass them.” She continued, “The kids here are really friendly.” According to Mrs. Shepherd, she likes SJHS because the students want to learn, and the teachers want to help the students be the best they can be. She said, “The students and staff here are fantastic to work with.”
According to Ms. Bales, the office attendance secretary, Mrs. Shepherd is a delight to work with, and she has a friendly and outgoing personality. Ms. Bales said, “She is the type of person you can depend on to get the job done.” According to Ms. Bales, she is dedicated to her job, and her ability to get to know the students and focus on their needs is amazing.
According to Mrs. Shepherd, when she is not at school she sings in a competitive choir. She also mentioned that she likes to go camping with her family, read, play with her dogs, and cuddle her three month old son.
