This year at SJHS, Mr. Jackson became our eighth grade school counselor after Mrs. Linton left.  Mr. Jackson said, “When there was an opening at the school, I immediately requested to come here.”  According to Mr. Jackson, he went to the University of Utah for Human Development and Family Studies.  Afterward he got his graduate degree from the University of Phoenix in Educational Counseling.

According to Mr. Jackson, he has worked at Spanish Fork Junior High, as well as Sage Creek, Park, and Goshen Elementary schools.  Mrs. Distefano, the ninth grade counselor, said, “We’ve been to many meetings and conferences together over the years.”

Mr. Jackson also helps with the students’ schedules.  According to Sabrina Scott, an eighth grader, her schedule change took only five minutes, when it used to take days.  “He helps students if they don’t feel like they can talk to anyone else,” said Sabrina Scott.  According to Katie Jackson, an eighth grader, he is always there for people.  He is always excited and there to help you out.

Mr. Hammon, the eighth grade health teacher, said, “When I first saw Mr. Jackson, it was at a staff meeting.  I remember looking at him and thinking, ‘What a majestic beard!  I wish I had facial hair as glorious as his!’  Little did I realize just how cool he was.”  According to Mr. Hammon, Mr. Jackson is the nicest guy on the planet.

Mrs. Distefano said, “He cares so much about students and works hard to meet their needs.”
