Chase Kimball Plays With Utah Valley Symphony

On Wednesday October 17th, and Thursday, October 18th, Chase Kimball, a ninth grader at Springville Junior High School, was invited to perform with the Utah Valley Symphony at the Covey Center of Arts in Provo.  Chase performed a piano piece called “Movement lll of Concerto in F” by George Gershwin, who also composed “Rhapsody in Blue.”  According to Chase, both performances went well, especially Thursday’s performance.

Chase said, “My favorite part of performing was when I got up to bow after playing and everyone was clapping and cheering.  There’s no feeling that compares to that.  I also liked talking to people who came to the concert and celebrating afterwards.”  After the concert, refreshments were served to the performers and to people from the audience.

Chase practiced three hours every day to prepare for concerts.  Chase was one of many Young Artists to perform.  Some other performers played a variety of instruments like the violin, the viola, the french horn, and the piano.

Chase said, “I’d like to thank everyone who came to my concerts. Things like this remind me of why I like performing.  Your support means a lot to me, and it was a blast afterwards!”
