Foods Class Cooking it up for Thanksgiving

In the foods class, students are making different types of food for different holidays that come up. Ms. Fausett is substituting for Mrs. Luke while she is out having her baby. According to Ms. Faucet, the eighth graders in her foods class are making pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving time. The ninth graders made pumpkin cookies. Most students in her class really enjoy the foods class because they learn how to make a certain type of food, so when they go home they can show their parents and make it themselves.

“I really like foods because you learn new recipes; then you can share them with your friends and family,” said Alisa Boyer, an eighth grader in the foods class. According to Jantsen Thorpe and Emily Mason, students should look forward to making yummy foods, having a fun time with friends, and learning new recipes to share with others in the foods class. Also, students can learn different types of skills and learn from their mistakes when it comes to cooking.

Ms. Fausett said that her favorite holidays to make different types of food during are Halloween and Christmas. She really likes the Halloween season because students make fun, scary, and festive things. Many students who enjoy cooking and want to learn new recipes could sign up for foods if the class sounds fun to them.
