Get Creative at the SJHS Writing Lab

Submitted by tiffanie.miley on

At Springville Junior High, there is something called Quest Time. Quest Time is right after third period where students can go to a room of their choice. Each room has an activity such as the movie, karaoke, board games, writing lab, etc. You are only allowed to go to these fun activities if you have an A, B, or C.

This article’s focus will be the Writing Lab. It is only for writing or retaking a computerized test, but sadly you can not play games (there is a separate lab for games).  The writing lab is in room 22. The writing lab is available every day of the week except Wednesday. Students usually take tests, write, and many more. Seventh-grade English teacher, Mr. Trent Mikesell said his favorite thing about supervising the writing lab is, “It's very quiet, and it's nice to help students with papers and stories.  I like that--that's why I'm an English teacher!” According to Mrs. Elizabeth Bass, another English teacher, the best part about having a writing lab is so that students can get needed one-on-one time with a teacher. This helps students understand and finish assignments that are due.
