Mrs. Monica DIstefano is the Springville Junior High eighth-grade counselor.  She has always loved teens. “Adolescence is a great time. You learn a lot of new things and make memories,” she said. She loves kids and all kinds of people. She likes to be a counselor, and has been counseling for eight years here at SJHS.  What she likes about counseling the most is the fact that you never know what is going to walk into her office. She deals with all kinds of kids with all kinds of attitudes.

In her office she deals with the sad, the mad, and the happy. Whether it’s a class change, a home problem, or just even someone to talk to, she is always there to help. Emma Johnson, an eighth grader here at SJHS, said, “She is always nice, and finds a way to brighten your worst days.”

Mrs. Distefano grew up in Ohio, she visits every summer to go see her family. Speaking of family, she has four kids, three boys and one girl. Her kids keep her busy with sports, cheer, and homework. She loves to bake, go to sports games and cheer performances, but her all time favorite its shopping! She loves shopping. Mrs. Distefano has really added to our school, everyone seems to think so.
