Welcome to the only place in the school where talking is encouraged, eating is a must, and having fun is just icing on the cake; yep, I'm talking about foods. Mrs. Natalie Luke teaches foods one and foods two all day long, and Mrs. Adrienne Murray teaches foods two, one period of the day.

Foods one is available to eighth graders and foods two is available to all ninth graders, while CTE is just an intro of the fun things ahead. Think foods isn’t important? Well, aside from it having wonderful teachers, it also counts for your high school graduation credit. So, you’re going to have to fill that space one way or another, and doing it in junior high is recommended. Don’t worry, foods is only a half-year elective, so it won’t take up much space in your schedule.

Mrs. Luke got a foods scholarship in college, and has been teaching foods for several years. She said that she wants her students to “learn to be confident in the kitchen, it’s a life skill.” “It’s a fun class, you learn a lot and get to eat!” said Kayla Pexton, an eighth grader, at SJHS.  Kayla said she’s definitely gonna take it next year.
