Julie Sumsion, a ninth grader, just broke the Springville High School record for fastest two mile. The previous record was set in 2008 and the record was 11:28. Julie ran the two mile in 11.22.09. Julie broke the record at the BYU invitational on May 1st and went to the state track meet competition. The State Meet was May 16-17 at BYU. Julie runs on the high school track team.

Julie said she loves to run and likes to push herself. Julie said she  prepares for track meets by “telling myself I can do it and do my best.” Outside of school Julie runs with the track teams. When Julie broke the record she said, “I felt like I accomplished something and reached my goal.”

Way to go Julie!
