The Last Dance of the Year

Submitted by jennifer.dunn on

The last dance of the year was on Thursday, May 8 in the SJHS boys’ gym. The dance started at seven and ended at nine. A lot of students showed up for their last dance at SJHS. The dance was filled with seventh, eighth and ninth graders. The dance was full of screaming sweaty kids having fun.

Kayli Remund, an eighth grader, said, “I got to dance with my crush, hang out with my friends, and listen to music. My favorite part was at the end, the last slow dance.”

Holly Barlow, an eighth grade student, said, “I had a lot of fun!”

Not only do students go to dances, but so do teachers. They supervise the dances and make sure the kids do not get too crazy, or out of control. Ms. Dunn, and Ms. McBride, teachers at SJHS, were two of the teachers that supervised the dance.

“We basically just try to keep kids from getting too crazy or rambunctious. But our students are really good, and there are rarely major problems,” said Ms. Dunn.

According to Ms. McBride she has supervised two other dances. She walks around and makes sure everything is okay, and not out of control.

The students had so much fun at the last dance; they even made a congo line. The line went around the gym and then scattered until it was gone. Hope you did not miss out on the fun, and if you did there is always next year!
