Mousetrap Car Champion

Submitted by jennifer.dunn on

Mr. Kindrick, a science teacher here at SJHS, had his students build mousetrap cars a couple weeks ago, like many of the other science teachers. Mr. Kindrick gives a prize to the student who breaks the record of the year.

Jackson Chambers, an eighth grade student, made his car expecting it to go about 60 or 70 feet. Jackson’s car went 99 feet, breaking the record of this year which was 73 feet.

Jackson said the biggest struggle he had to deal with was time. He felt like he had a lot to do in short amount of time.

“I was excited, especially since I beat everyone by like 20 feet,” said Jackson.

“I expected it to go further; he had a great lever system constructed,” said Mr. Kinkdrick.

According to Mr. Kindrick if Jackson had set his car straight it would have  gone further. Congratulations to Jackson for being the mousetrap car champion!
