Mrs. Caras Wins the Crystal Apple Award

Earth Systems teacher Mrs. Caras was recently chosen by her fellow teachers to receive the Crystal Apple teaching award at Springville Junior High for the 2012-2013 school year.  She was presented the award during a faculty meeting after school on April 23rd.  According to Mrs. Caras, she was not aware of her nomination beforehand, so she was very surprised.  The award, a stand holding a crystal apple, was sponsored by the Horace Mann Insurance Company.  “It was fun to get something, because I really love teaching,” said Mrs. Caras.

After it was announced that Mrs. Caras had won the Crystal Apple award, Mrs. Carpenter, another SJHS science teacher, was able to say a few words about Mrs. Caras in front of the other teachers.  According to Mrs. Carpenter, Mrs. Caras has a lot of great qualities that make her a great teacher.  “Mrs. Caras works hard everyday to provide students with learning opportunities which are fun and interesting,” said Mrs. Carpenter.  According to Tiana Taala, a ninth grader at SJHS, she likes that Mrs. Caras is a fun, caring, and outgoing teacher.  On behalf of Springville Junior High, we would like to congratulate Mrs. Caras on her award, and thank her for all she does at our school.  “I am so happy to have Mrs. Caras as a good friend,” said Mrs. Carpenter,  “I appreciate her optimistic outlook on life, and her great sense of humor.”
