New Seventh Graders to Experience what SJHS is all about

Submitted by tiffanie.miley on

A new school, a locker combination to memorize, and classes all over the school. It’s no wonder seventh graders are so stressed out when they first come to SJHS. The administration has come up with a solution to this.

Next year, seventh graders will come a day before everyone else; this half day is dedicated to helping the seventh graders out, because their first day of seventh grade is the hardest. The administration will be there to help with lockers and to direct students to their classes. They will also have an assembly to welcome the new seventh graders to the school.

Mr. Knudsen, vice principal at SJHS, said, “This is a great way for the administration to get to know the seventh graders before the bigger grades come back to the school.” Other teachers at SJHS also think that this is a wonderful idea. According to Mrs. Hales, a CTE teacher at SJHS, this is an excellent way for the seventh graders to get a game plan. Sara Torsak, and eight-grader at SJHS, said, “This would’ve helped me a lot I like how the administration will be there to help with lockers, I think that’ll help the most.”

The seventh graders will enjoy having the school to themselves as they get ready for their new adventure: Springville Junior High.
