With the new school, came a new lunch room. The new cafetorium, a cafeteria and an auditorium combined, is much larger and nicer than the old junior high’s cafeteria. The teachers and students like how much bigger it is compared to last year’s.

Even though there are lots of good things about the new lunch room, there are some problems. According to Rachell Chappel, the lunch room director, she and her lunch ladies have been having some problems with the dishwashers, the warmers and some of the ovens, but she knew that there would be some minor problems only because everything is new.

Other than those things, the lunch ladies like their new kitchen. They now have a dishwasher and two fridges, which they did not have last year. According to Rachell Chappell, they are most excited about the dishwasher, because they had to hand wash all of the dishes last year. They also like the two fridges that they got, they use the smaller one for the milk and produce, and the bigger one holds everything else.

“All of the students are awesome! My lunch ladies and I have made comments to each other and with Mr.Locke about how clean the lunchroom has been after lunch; there is hardly any major messes that need cleaning,” said Rachell Chappel. “A lot of students have been saying thank you. This is awesome to hear from students because my ladies and I work hard to have food prepared in time for lunch break.”

Over all, people have liked the new cafetorium. The lunch workers, the teachers, and the students all like it. “I like the new lunch room because it’s a lot bigger, and bigger is better,” said Cole Geirisch, an eighth grade student at SJHS. Springville Junior High School is very glad that we got a brand new school, and lunch room.
