SJHS Displays Great Courage

Submitted by tiffanie.miley on

As many students may know, Springville Junior High has a different virtue they focus on each month. October’s virtue is courage. SJHS does monthly virtues to incorporate special attributes to the students lives, and to encourage students to think about them. These virtues are also qualities that SJHS faculty and staff look for in Super Knights.

According to Mr. Van Ausdal, principal at SJHS, they picked courage for this month because it is essential in your life regardless of who you are and where you live. Sarah Rawle, a ninth grader at SJHS, said, “Courage means standing up for what you know is right.” Students at SJHS say that courage is respecting other people. It’s also being brave when other people may not think it’s cool.

Springville Junior has had something kind of similar to this in the past. Since we now have Super Knights the administration decided to have a monthly virtue also. Tyree Strong, an eighth grader at SJHS, said that courage is “standing up for what you believe in.”  So students should try to focus on being courageous.
