Soon to Come- The Super Knights

Super Knight awards are soon to commence again, but for the seventh graders who are puzzled about what this award is, here’s an introduction.  It is an award handed out at the end of every month at SJHS, acknowledging the students who have been living up to the school standards and the monthly virtue that is established during Quest time, at the beginning of the month.   According to Mrs. Caras, ninth grade earth science teacher, the first Super Knight assembly of the school year will take place at the end of the month of October (2013).  Students are elected to be a Super Knight when each teacher nominates two students, a boy and a girl,  from each grade. All the nominations are placed on a ballot for the faculty to elect two students in each grade.  Votes are counted up and the students with the most win.    However, Mrs. Caras says, “Students may receive this award only once in their three years spent at SJHS.”  “Not only do we do it to celebrate with the Super Knights, we also want to use the assembly to showcase talent within our school,” explains Mrs. Caras.  Mr. Argyle, assistant principal of the school, says that there might be performances by the student band or orchestra. However, he says that this year the school has a few speakers lined up to talk to the student body about the virtues and what it means to be a Super Knight.  The first virtue will be responsibility according to Mr.Argyle.
