Mr. Mikesell is the amazing dean of students here at SJHS. He became the Dean two years ago. Before that, Mr. Mikesell was an English teacher for five years until he started working on a master’s degree in Educational Leadership. According to Mr. Mikesell, he wanted to become an administrator so he could have a chance to help a lot of people and become a bigger influence.

Even when he was a teacher he was so good at it.  Sadie Ogles, a ninth grader at SJHS,  said “He made it really fun and made me like English.” Besides being one of the administrators, he is involved with lots of school activities. Actually, Mr. Mikesell’s favorite part about being an administrator is working in the different programs like Student Council and Hope Squad.

According to Mr. Van Ausdal, principal at SJHS, Mr. Mikesell is always here and quick to complete assignments given. He also takes initiative. In Assistant Principal Penrod’s opinion, Mr. Mikesell is absolutely terrific and is genuinely interested in the students at SJHS. Mr. Mikesell is also kind and conscientious.  Mr. Van Ausdal said, “Mr. Mikesell is a great person to work with.”

His favorite sports team is the Red Sox. His favorite holiday is Christmas, and his tooth brush is blue. Mr. Mikesell has a great sense of humor, and he’s an awesome assistant principal.
